Case Studies - Here's an Idea....

Problem:

Building a "green" home is a very popular concept. This client was convinced that they wanted to build a LEEDS certified home. Once the cost estimates came in, the client quickly realized that it was over his budget. The client was still adamant about building "green".

Solution:

Mike scoured the project costs and made some key adjustments. By removing the solar component and adding geothermal heating, Mike was able to drastically reduce the costs while still implementing some key energy saving components. In addition, Mike decided to utilize an Icynene insulation product which further provided energy savings. In all, Mike was able to reduce the cost from $300 per square foot to just over $180 per square foot and still maintain the "green" aspects that were important to the client.
